I'm Diego Jerez, an engineer in the process of redefining his professional path. I am deeply grateful to the Wordpress community, especially the one in Medellín and to Táctico MD. With Wordpress I discovered a world of possibilities that have now opened many doors for me. And Táctico MD is a continuous study program on digital marketing by Luis Betancourt. I did some diploma courses in important universities in Medellin about digital marketing, and if I had to choose, I would go for Táctico MD without thinking twice. I strongly believe that traditional education must change its ways, its forms, it has a lot to learn from online education. Along the same lines, I try to live that 'never stop learning' (Platzi's slogan). Among other things, I live in love with the Open Source ecosystem. In every project I try to include some Open Source element either to optimize resources or simply for the philosophy behind this ecosystem. As an industrial engineer, I always look at numbers in a natural way. Optimization, and now automation are often cross-cutting themes in my tasks. I consider that everything can be improved, in everything we can iterate and every possible automation allows us to improve as human beings, be more efficient in the use of time and therefore positively affect our value propositions. Since 2019 I work as a freelancer, I consider myself a Wordpress Ninja (far from being SENSEI) and I am in the ability to get the most out of Wordpress: from setting up a virtual private server (VPS) with LiteSpeed on Linux, securing it, configuring it and the maintenance issue, to customizations with code either for e-commerce or blog. 2024 has made me constantly question my professional development. Today I can say that I am strongly attracted to process automation with artificial intelligence, not only for digital marketing but also other areas of interest. Estoy profundamente agradecido con la comunidad de Wordpress, especialmente la de Medellín y con Táctico MD. Con Wordpress descubrí un mundo de posibilidades que ahora me han abierto muchas puertas. Y Táctico MD es un programa de estudios continuos sobre marketing digital de Luis Betancourt. Hice algunos diplomados en universidades importantes de Medellin sobre marketing digital, y si tuviera que escoger, me iría por Táctico MD sin pensarlo dos veces. Creo fuertemente que la educación tradicional debe cambiar sus modos, sus formas, tiene mucho que aprender a la educación online. Por esa misma línea trato de vivir ese 'nunca pares de aprender' (slogan de Platzi). Entre otras cosas, vivo enamorado del ecosistema Open Source. En cada proyecto busco incluir algún elemento Open Source ya sea para optimizar recursos o simplemente por la filosofía detrás de este ecosistema. Como ingeniero industrial siempre mi mirada se dirige a los números de forma natural. La optimización, y ahora la automatización son frecuentemente temas transversales en mis tareas. Considero que todo se puede mejorar, en todo podemos iterar y cada automatización posible nos permite mejorar como seres humanos, ser más eficientes en el uso del tiempo y por tanto afectar positivamente nuestras propuestas de valor. Desde 2019 trabajo como freelance, considero que soy un Ninja De Wordpress (lejos de ser SENSEI) y estoy en la capacidad de sacar el mayor provecho de Wordpress: desde el montaje de un servidor virtual privado (VPS) con LiteSpeed en Linux, asegurándolo, configurándolo y el tema de mantenimiento, hasta personalizaciones con código ya sea para e-commerce o blog. El 2024 me ha hecho cuestionar constantemente sobre mi desarrollo profesional. Hoy puedo decir que me siento fuertemente atraído por la automatización de procesos con inteligencia artificial, no solo para marketing digital sino también otras áreas de interés.
